Manager of Safety and Compliance
SALARY RANGE: $ 70,000.00 - $ 85,000.00 a year
HOURS: 7:30 am 4:00 pm / Hours can vary depending on the workload
and The Safety Manager must be on call 24 hours a day in case of an
emergency.
Benefits: 40-hour sick leave, medical insurance, dental insurance,

90 days probation period. 2 weeks vacations after the first year

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Creating a safety manual for all drivers.
- Maintaining safety requirements for all drivers files.
- Maintaining safety policies and procedures for both drivers and
office employees.
- Keeping the procedures and safety polices in place for
compliance with local, state, federal regulations. Being aware of
FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association, DOT, and
OSHA.
- Work with the HR on all drivers new hire onboarding paperwork
MVR, Drug and Alcohol, etc.
- Work with HR on training courses for all safety and compliance
for drivers and main office employees.
- Handle accidents, insurance claims as well as audits on
drivers.
- Conduct post-accident and post injury investigations by
preparing the analysis of root causes corrective actions, and
reporting. Ensure proper completion of required documentation and
reporting to the proper agencies. Identify, inspect, investigate,
follow up on reported safety violations/concerns and assess work
hazards.
- Take lead on developing, implementing, maintaining, reviewing,
updating, and communicating driver, facility and transportation
safety policies, processes, procedures, and training programs in
compliance with all local state and federal safety
regulations.
- Prepare, publish, and distribute driver and facility KPI s
scorecards and recognition notices.
- Conduct a DOT Compliance course at least 2 times a year for all
employees with a DOT card.
- Handling of all IFTA overweight and other paperwork dealing
with permits.
- Assist with tracking and follow up on workers compensation
claims with support and guidance to HR and Operational
Leaders.
- Coach for performance prepare, document, deliver and file
corrective actions and PIP (performance improvement plan) to
individuals who have engaged in or are engaging in unsafe
acts.
- Ability to express ideas, both verbally and written to all in
communication with.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop for all drivers.
- Twice a year host an event for drivers to come together to go
over important information.
- Being able to conduct drivers evaluations at least once or
twice a year for the upkeep of the DOT and OSHA
requirements.
- Working with the General Manager and Owners of the company to
stay in compliance with all the local, state, federal laws of DOT
and OSHA.
- Ability to define, diagnose, and resolve in a logical and safe
way any safety manners that will come up.
- Answering all emails in a timely fashion to customers and
drivers.
- Being on call for all drivers in case of an emergency.
- Ensure all driver qualification files are in
compliance.
- Ensure all vehicle maintenance files are in
compliance.
- Process all DOT roadside inspections paperwork.
- Monitor CSA and ISS scores and trends.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 - 5 plus years experience in that of working in DOT
compliance.
- 2 years of experience in the OSHA requirements
- 2 years of knowledge or work experience with FMCSR, Hazard
Materials Regulations, Drug and Alcohol.
- 1-2 years of experience in Management.
- 1-2 years of experience in hazard materials.
- 1-2 years of experience in tractor trailers.
- 1-2 years experience in that of ELD training.
- 2-5 years of experience in the transportation industry.THIS IS
NOT A REMOTE JOB.
