Cardiac Sonographer IIAdvocate Medical Group - Oak LawnFulltime
(40 hours per wk)0.5 FTE at Beverly/Christ for am hours then to Oak
Lawn cardiology for afternoon hours. Position
Requirements:Registered Technologist by CCI, ARDMS, RCS, RVT, RVS,
RDCS.RCS/ RDCS/ ACLS/ RCPMinimum of 3+ years of non-invasive
cardiology experience in echocardiography studies.Demonstrated
skills for advanced learning in echocardiology studies.This
position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a
variety of groups treated.Basic knowledge of anatomy and
physiology.Ability to work well with others.Good communication
skills.Good organizations skills.Capable of performing lifting and
transferring related to patient care.Capable of moving ultrasound
equipment for portable studies.Exposure to ill patients, may be
exposed to blood and urine samples.Travel as required. Other duties
as assigned.If position has direct patient care or direct patient
contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous
lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35
pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or
when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling
equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other
associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement
situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.Purpose:To
provide quality cardiodiagnostic and non-invasive testing. Provides
related clerical responsibilities necessary for physician
interpretation and department record keeping. To provide to the
interpreting physician, through the non-invasive diagnostic imaging
techniques of ultrasound, a complete and accurate documentation of
cardiac anatomy and cardiac performance. To satisfy the requirement
of the accrediting body for diagnostic
echocardiography.Accountabilities:Provides competent and proficient
technical skills in the to cardiac ultrasounds implementing
procedural standard and protocols for the following
modalitiesProvides patient care specific to procedural requirements
and patient's need (under the supervision of the physician) within
established departmental protocols.Maintains an organized, safe and
efficient work environmentProvides clerical function necessary for
physician's interoperation, department, records and patient
billing.Development and on-going maintenance of collaborative
relationships with department staff, physicians, and related
external contacts in order to meet departmental objectives.Maintain
professional growth, self-development, objectives, skill
enhancement and commitment to the organization.
