(CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating
Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. A certified First Assistant
Surgical Technologist with specialized skills in operating room
techniques and patient care is needed for a contract opportunity in
Wheeling, WV. This role supports surgeons by assisting directly
during surgical procedures, ensuring sterile techniques and smooth
execution in the operating room. The assignment offers a chance to
apply expertise in anatomy, surgical procedures, and intraoperative
technology within a busy hospital environment. Key
Responsibilities: Assist surgeons as the primary surgical first
assistant throughout various operative procedures. Collaborate with
nurses, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs to optimize patient care
during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
Maintain strict adherence to sterile and aseptic techniques.
Support the surgical team with necessary tools, technologies, and
procedural knowledge. Participate in scheduled on-call duties,
including weekends as needed. Flexibility to work a possible 4-day,
10-hour shift schedule. Qualifications and Experience: Graduate
from an accredited surgical technology or surgical assisting
program (CAAHEP accredited). Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
credential. Certified First Assistant designation through NBSTSA is
mandatory. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within
30 days of hire. Minimum of 3 years of surgical first assistant
experience. Transparent license disclosures required upon
submission. Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per
day. Some on-call and weekend on-call responsibilities. Potential
