As a Senior Manager, Application Development at CIBC, you will lead
cross-functional development teams and oversee several large-scale
projects and support functions for key business lines. You will
provide technical and strategic direction, ensuring best-practice
development, high-quality delivery, and alignment with
organizational goals. In this role, you will: Direct, motivate, and
develop your team to maximize engagement and performance
Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to
deliver impactful solutions Champion continuous improvement and
innovation in processes and technology adoption Ensure measurable
success through quality, timeliness, and positive business outcomes
This role is a Hybrid role with 2-3 days required on-site per week.
How You’ll Succeed People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a
high-performing team. Maximize team contributions and professional
growth through effective motivation, knowledge sharing, and
collaborative problem-solving. Foster an inclusive and diverse work
environment. Relationship Management: Build strong partnerships
with business and technology stakeholders, including product owners
and business leaders. Advise on technology solutions that drive
business value and innovation. Technical Leadership: Guide the
development and implementation of complex software solutions across
multiple platforms Drive best practices in architecture, coding,
and quality assurance Champion the integration of AI coding
assistants and modern development tools Mentor junior engineers and
support their technical growth Strategic Development & Execution:
Translate business requirements into robust system and application
designs, collaborating with architects to ensure alignment with
CIBC’s technology roadmap and strategic objectives. Strategy and
Roadmap: Contribute to the development and execution of technology
roadmaps. Lead multiple technology initiatives, ensuring
consistency, best practices, and continuous improvement. Continuous
Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, particularly in
AI, cloud, and data engineering. Identify and implement
opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and automation. Change
Leadership: Lead teams through organizational and technological
change, ensuring adoption and engagement. Knowledge and Skills
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software architecture,
RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
Hands-on experience with: .NET (C#) application development SQL
Server database design and optimization Data technology stack:
SSIS, Azure SQL, REST APIs Databricks for scalable ETL pipelines
and data models Familiarity with foundation AI models (e.g., GPT,
BERT, Llama) and integrating AI/ML solutions into enterprise
applications Understanding of AI model fine-tuning and
customization Strong experience with AI-powered coding agents
(e.g., GitHub Copilot) Outstanding DevOps practices: environment
management, security, pipeline management, compliance, release
management BI tools (Tableau, Cognos, Power BI) Delivery &
Operations: Proficient in Jira/Azure DevOps for taxonomy, story
writing, estimation, and velocity measurement Proven experience
managing large-scale projects/programs, including budgeting and
resource planning Experience with vendor management and third-party
solution integration Leadership & Communication: Expert
communication with C-suite and key technical partners for
governance and tollgate forums Strong technical storytelling
ability for recommendations and solution proposals Experience
leading teams through change and transformation Performance
management: setting objectives, measuring outcomes, and providing
feedback Commitment to fostering an inclusive and high-performing
team environment Security & Compliance: Familiarity with
cybersecurity best practices and regulatory requirements relevant
to banking/financial services Who You Are You can demonstrate
experience. Leading a team of developers and testers for 4-5 years
and are a seasoned professional with the ability to coach and help
develop other team members. You are a code quality champion with
hands-on experience in Software Design using SOLID Design
principles. You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science,
Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field of

CONDITIONS ·This role operates within a normal office environment
Hybrid - 2 days a week in office This position does not offer visa
sponsorship. At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.
This role has an expected salary range of $160,000.00 - $190,000.00
for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of
the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to
participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation
plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC
