Magnetic Resonance Tech (MRI) Pediatric Job ID: 350884SF Shift: Day/PM Full/Part Time: Full TimeLocation: Christ Hospital Oak Lawn, IL 60454 Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours / bi-weekly pay period: 72Position Requirements: Looking for an experienced MRI technologist who has both Pediatric experience and Cardiac MRI experience. This is in a brand new department. Staffing 12 hour shifts either 7 am- 7:30 pm or 10 am- 10:30 pm. -Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.-1 year as a MRI Technologist or graduate of a certificate program in MRI Technology.-ARRT-IEMA -Basic knowledge of crosssectional anatomy androutine MRI procedures. -ARRT Registry-IEMA License-CPR Certification-MRI registry eligible-Must pass MRI boards within 1 year of hire. -Ability to work overtime when required.-Ability to be flexible in starting times to meetdemands.(weekend rotation and flexible hours.)-Attends additional educational and safety inservices.-Ability to respond to work at short notice.-Exposed to radiation.-Ability to operate portable equipment.-Ability to deal with extremely ill patients.-Ability to communicate with patients-Ability to adjust to flexible work hours.-Ability to work weekends, holidays, and emergencycall-back. -Ability to participate on-call program and available todepartment needs with minimal notice.-Ability to do light, medium or heavy lifting.LIGHT: Lifting up to 20-50 pounds occasionally and/orup to 10 pounds frequently.MEDIUM: Lifting up to 20-50 pounds occasionallyand/or10 to 25 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 poundsconstantly.HEAVY: Lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 poundsconstantly.-Ability to make independent professional decisions usinggood judgment skills.-Ability to practice high quality patient care and technicalcompetence.-Ability to function with minimal assistance in performingjobactivities.-Ability to demonstrate oral and written communicationskills.-May be exposed to hazardous chemicals. -Ability to attend out-of-town site visits to view equipment. This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging. Prior experience with various age groups is preferred. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Purpose:Performs a comprehensive range of magnetic resonance procedures, providing examinations of optimal quality for the diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury. Accountabilities:Accountable for the positioning and immobilization of patients and proper selection of technical factors along with computer reformatting of acquired data to obtain magnetic resonance scans of optimal quality.Accountable for obtaining documentation for department records related to patient statistics, supplies, patient billing information and preservation of patient recordsAccountable for securing pertinent history from patient, patient's chart or family member to provide the radiologist with adequate information for examination interpretation and to ensure procedural criteria is metAccountable for being compliant with established Accrediting Organization and department safety standards to ensure patients and staff well being at all timesAccountable for keeping abreast of current magnetic resonance, and radiological skills and of new developments in the field.Accountable for maintaining good relations when dealing with all persons encountered in daily performance of job.
